Nilaya Anthology is a singular design destination--spread across 100000 square feet
in the heart of Mumbai--shaping sensibilities within the Indian home. A canvas for the most considered curation of material objects and immaterial experiences; inspired by nature, history, culture, craftsmanship and colour, we encourage all those who enter our world to excavate the many layers of this experience so that they may carry new ideas into the spaces they occupy most. Through offerings via objects, furniture and art from incredible Indian and international makers, we seek to create a curious and like-minded community who cherish objects of design and those who make them, in preservation of their stories and processes.
At its core, Nilaya Anthology is an articulation of beauty, through design.
Beauty is in the making.

Our ideas of India and design resist easy categorisation. Our lens comes most alive at the intersection of unlikely things — ancient cultures and modern technology, moments of sudden inspiration and centuries-old processes — all rooted in the sheer variety of perspectives that coexist to make us one.
‘Confluence Beyond Cliches’ speaks to Nilaya Anthology’s ability to bind countless cultural contexts together and keep layering them, ultimately crafting experiences that allow us to travel between many ideas towards the creation of an Indian design philosophy that can be shared with the world.
Asian Paints is the story of Indian homes. What was once an expression of its everyman roots has evolved alongside our customers to create a more considered experience that celebrates design excellence in every form. We have continuously built on our expertise to speak to this new generation of discerning Indians on their journey to curate their own stories through design.
The time is right for a new era in international design that is rooted in an Indian point of view, and Nilaya Anthology is our offering to lead this change.
The Nilaya Anthology curatorial point of view is our compass; an ethos that comes to life in the form of objects and experiences that we believe pay homage to India's deep connection to the world -- historically and currently -- through craftsmanship and design.
Our curatorial vision, 'The Return of the Indian Century', is about being rooted in the past, yet embracing the future. We honour the hands that shape, not just the ones that consume. Every piece here reclaims agency, invites belonging, and conjures meaning — a bridge between memory and imagination, shaped by many hearts, minds, and materials.

MD and CEO of the ₹354 billion Asian Paints Group, Amit Syngle first began his journey with the company 34 years ago. Today, he has earned his reputation as a visionary business leader; responsible for the company’s position as the second-most valued paints company in the world, with a market cap of ₹ 2,800 billion, as well as the man behind the group’s transformation from a paints business to an inspirational Home Decor brand. Under his leadership, Asian Paints has grown from strength to strength—making pivotal shifts backed by calculated risks, strategic acquisitions, and a deep belief in partnering with the customer as they build their dream homes.
Nilaya Anthology is the latest in a long line of Syngle’s pioneering ideas—where his vision to define a design philosophy that India can truly own meets his business strategy to speak to the luxury segment of home decor. Bringing a unique set of honours backed by business and cultural credibility alike, Anthology marks a new era in design for the company, its consumers and the country.

Immersed in the landscape of Indian craftsmanship for three decades now, few understand the intersection of design, culture and community better than Pavitra Rajaram. As Anthology’s Creative Director, Rajaram's ability to merge her own intuition with the unparalleled insights of Asian Paints’ decor business is a potent force for excellence. She draws from these depths to cultivate a curatorial and creative point of view that helps define our product world with everything a storied home might need—from furnishings and collectable art to one-off pieces and contemporary design.
Emphatic in her belief that India always has been, and presently is, both a producer and consumer of world-class design; she continues to thread design, ideas and stories that tie this point of view together in ways that reroute and restore agency and power into the human hands and lives who ‘make’.
