Araish is the word for the indigenous limestone plaster used in Rajasthan for centuries, and Araish Jaipur is focused on reviving this craft by reimagining it through contemporary objects. To create each piece, the team creates glossy and crack-free surfaces using a combination of hydraulic lime, marble dust, buttermilk and resin, finally coating them with coconut oil. Each product is then burnished with an agate stone to take its eventual form as a beautiful, tactile design that is smooth to touch. Anthology presents a selection of Araish's product world including vases, candle holders, trays and plates for our audience to experience a revival of historically rooted design at its finest.
