In a world that's always rushing towards the next new thing, Bailou is a testament to stillness. A home for modern hand-made and hand-woven textiles that are informed by vintage sensibilities, their products are an invitation into timelessness and a platform for West Bengal's rich history of weaving. For Anthology, we sought to reimagine and reinterpret cherished textile traditions across two collections of contemporary cushions. The first features pure silk cushions made with the Ghicha yarn and Jamdani motifs, pieced together with a hand-done kantha stitch. The second takes inspiration from the classic, striped durai borders associated with cotton sarees across the region to create cushions that pay homage to the classic, contemporary stripes of Ralph Lauren.
