Injiri is Chinar Farooqui's love letter to the infinite Indian histories contained in our textiles and threads. Deeply influenced by her childhood in rural Rajasthan, Chinar worked with Anthology to curate and co-create three exclusive collections of cushions and throws. The first curation draws inspiration from Gondana art and the tattoo culture of the Bhujodi weavers of Gujarat. Designed with the weavers themselves, the finely woven kala cotton is a contemporary expression of Gujarati patterns. The second fuses Kedia embroideries with Bandhani on hand-woven silk––a coming together of unexpected ideas and an homage to craft clusters. For the final collection of Kantha throws, Anthology and Injiri collaborated, drawing inspiration from kite patterns around Phulkari and Patola, honouring the process of craftsmanship that each piece undergoes.
