Founded by Shalini Devi Holkar in the temple town of Maheshwar, Women Weave is a co-operative that empowers women of all backgrounds to master the craft. Shaini was instrumental in introducing Anthology's creative director to the weaves of Maheshwar more than 25 years ago. Anthology worked with master weavers from the collective across two collections, both of which experimented with different techniques and skills to create new fabrics that push the possibilities of craft and design. The first is a series of 'Shalini' quilts, named for the founder herself, which are upcycled using leftover silk yarn. The second is a collection of hand-spun cotton textiles with gold Zari detailing.
